got one this week and have been experimenting. or they just don't want to try. i just made the best guacamole that i have ever had and i am far from a good cook.
a couple notes - instructions are not adequate so you will need to experiment and there are no recipes. this product is an extraordinary value. for the price it is unbelievably good.
and clean up takes seconds not minutes. for things like pico de gallo and chunky salsa some ingredients need to be chopped in the processor first (garlic, whole herbs and spices,etc).so that they will easily blend with coarser chopped ingredients like onions and tomatoes. with some practice you can get the exact texture and flavor you want.
anyone who complains either has a defective product (which can happen to even the best manufacturers - see toyota in feb 2010). buy it.
three-cup capacity makes this mini food chopper one of the best buys on the market. it's compact (being vertical), fast and easy to clean. why pay much more for a mini food processor when this one fills the bill so well.
Much better suited for hard or dry stuff, like nuts or mushrooms. Works ok but it doesn't really chop. I have tried it with a few things and it seems to shred more than chop. When I want something softer (onions, green peppers) diced, I still have to use a knife. Disappointing.
It takes no time at all to set up and clean up. I'd say this was the best $20 I've ever spent for my kitchen. It works wonders with foods like garlic and ginger. I specifically wanted a small appliance that would work for onions, and this product delivers as promised. It's perfectly small and easy to store. At most, when chopping softer, wet foods like onions or peppers, you have to give the bowl a little shake to mix up the contents and then finish chopping. I'll never cook without it.
I use it everyday. This is an awesome small kitchen essential. Can't ask for a better tool.The only thing that is showing signs of aging is the plastic cup which is cracking in places. Love it. It is very effective in chopping/mashing/pureeing small to medium quantities. I have owned it for 2.5 years now and still works great. would buy it again.
